I am Villa Lee Lee. Placed in the quiet back alleys of Canggu I am the epitome of Balinese bliss. I am far enough off the beaten track to provide you with a relaxing and peaceful atmosphere, yet within walking distance of all the amazing restaurants and shops the area has to offer. Even the beach is only a cat jump away. The minute you open my traditional Balinese wooden door, prepare to be overwhelmed with amazement. I will bewitch you with my lush green surroundings, refreshing pool, shaded structures and open floor-plan. Don’t be surprised if you never want to leave.

If there is one thing I would suggest to do while you’re here, then it would be to try a new restaurant every day. There are so many from traditional Balinese warungs to hipster cafes. Here are some of my faves you can walk to —

  • The Lawn sits on foreshore of the hip Canggu Beach, the Lawn has quickly become a favorite haunt for locals, expats and visitors alike. Soak up the midday sun, lounge by the pool or enjoy a lovely dinner with friends.
  • The Slow is provides an immersive experience  incorporating all-day dining, drinks, art, & local culture.  The eclectic space gravitates around the owners personal art collection with sounds by LA’s Reverberation Radio
  • Shady Shack is located right next to a rice paddy field with shaded indoor and outdoor seating, satisfying all your vitamin cravings.
  • Café Organic. This being the second restaurant opened you can imagine how quickly the word has spread about this all vegan restaurant. Known for its delicious Acai bowls, this place offers everything from innovative salads to the most sinful cakes. The outdoor seating area is the perfect place to meet up for breakfast or enjoy a late night smoothie with a stranger.
  • A few more to mention: Peleton, Crate Café & The Living Kitchen

Yoga studios are almost as common as restaurants here in Bali, so you won’t have to look too hard to find one. If you are serious about your practice, Desi Seni is a really wonderful yoga space to enjoy, or Canggu Studio, if you just want to get in a little morning workout.

There is a laundry service across the road where you can cheaply wash your clothes.

Warung Nelayan is just around the corner of Villa Lee Lee, once you turn left on the main road you will find it after 200m on the left hand side. Try their delicious Gau gau (traditional Balinese vegetarian dish).

Tranquilty Spa is a great place to relax after an “exhausting” day at the beach. For only $10 you can get an hour Balinese massage. Make sure to make an appointment as Lila has made herself a name.

Villa Lee Lee also offers a babysitter if you are looking for some alone time or want to go out on a well-deserved date with your partner in crime.

Bali is very famous for its handicrafts. There is a tailor that does beautiful leather work right down the street of Villa Lee Lee called Azam’s Leather Manufacture. This place comes highly recommended.
