I am Le Riad Berbere. Built in the 17th-century, I am an antique, a relic, a part of history, growing up in the authentic Kaat Benahid neighborhood of Marrakech. Tucked in the narrow back alleys of the old Medina, my quiet sanctuary awaits. With only 5 chic yet minimalistic designed rooms, I offer outstanding customer service in an intimate setting. Find shade amidst my small courtyard oasis, under my orange and banana trees or catch some midday sun atop my light flooded rooftops. As the day winds down and candles begin to flicker on, be seated for an an authentic slow cooked tajine, Moroccan salad and sweet mint tea.

Highlights & Attractions at Le Riad Berbere

Explore the Medina: Allow yourself to get lost in the maze of the old medina and especially within the souks. Just remember that eventually, all streets lead back to the big square: Jamaâ El Fna. Once you get there, grab a mint tea on a rooftop terrace and watch the square come alive with storytellers, snake charmers and dancers. Also Don't miss out on Place des Épices. Here you will find delicious scents and smells that emanate from the bags of spices and cosmetic products made out of argan and amber. Enjoy some sweet Moroccan mint tea or dinner at one of the many cafes surrounding the square. Book a hammam: An ultimate Moroccan Spa experience that will leave your skin soft and your body relaxed. We recommend Les Baind de Marrakech located in the Gueliz (The new part of Marrakech) or Les Bains d'Orient located at the entrance of the medina of Marrakech an intimate Riad space dedicated to your well being. Visit the beautiful gardens of Marrakech: Jardin Majorelle and Le Jardin Secret are both popular sightseeing spots while in Marrakech. We prefer Le Jardine Secret as it is located in the old medina and also is bigger in size. Lunch with a view: You can also leave Marrakech for a day with an excursion to the Atlas: "the 3 Valleys" and enjoy lunch in a private Berber house or even better join an authentic Moroccan cooking class: A real meeting of Moroccan culture in a magical place. Restaurant Recommendations in the Medina:  Atay Cafe — rooftop terrace with traditional Moroccan food. Terrasse Des Espices & Cafe Arabe — stunning sunset views offering traditional & Moroccan fusion. Nomad — a strong emphasis on fresh local produce and ample variety for vegetarians, pescatarians, and carnivores alike. La Famille a lovely restaurant set in a beautiful garden (enjoy a delicious vegetarian and meat-free menu; lunch only and reservations are recommended). Other locations worth visiting: El Badi Palace, Bahia Palace, Ben Youssef Medrasa, Maison de la Photographie
