About Me

I am El Dorado Hotel. I am an intimate 27-room boutique hotel in the heart of Sonoma. Open your window and overlook the plaza with its many tasting rooms, shops and exquisite restaurants or take in the peaceful back patio views. My elegant chambers are decorated with four poster beds and French doors, inviting you to enjoy a glass of wine in the comfort of your private balcony. Sweep down the terracotta staircase and right into the center of Sonoma. After a day full of exploring, return back to the local hotspot, the farm to table, El Dorado Kitchen, right in the comfort of the my hotel. Known for its exquisite seasonal menu, it is the perfect compliment to a day out on the town.

What to do at El Dorado Hotel

The Napa Valley Wine Trail runs through Sonoma all the way to Yountville, and offers a plethora of wineries worth visiting, such as Anaba, Buena Vista, Sebastiani and the Larson Family Winery.

Since the Sonoma Plaza right out the door, I would highly recommend walking down the Vine Alley Sonoma. If you are looking for a way to make this experience even more romantic, grab a bottle of exquisite wine, then walk over to the Sonoma Cheese Factory and choose your favorite cheese, olives, grapes along with some French bread and voila, you just crafted your own picnic in the park.

Grab one of my complimentary bikes and take it for a ride around the town or to near by vineyards. My personal favorite is Bartholomew Park Winery just on the outskirts of town.

For even more suggestions, my knowledgeable staff will gladly share their favorite hotspots & must do’s in Sonoma.

Shared Secrets

Every Tuesday night starting at 5:30pm, you will find a bustling farmers market at the Sonoma Plaza, right across the street from El Dorado Hotel.

The hotel has private parking spots behind the hotel, ask one of the friendly concierges to provide you with a slip allowing you to park in the back as street parking out front is a 3-hour parking zone.

There is a 200 year old Mission fig tree in the center of the back patio. If you are there during the right time of year it is filled with figs. El Dorado Kitchen sees this as an opportunity and incorporates these delectable fruits into a lot of their cuisine. But watch out for the falling figs if you plan hang out in its shade during the day.
