I am Arusha Coffee Lodge. Whether you are getting ready to be blown away by your first adventure into the bush or reminiscing about your most recent escapades through the safari circuit of Tanzania, I am the perfect spot to land. My idyllic grounds are a safe haven for the mind, body and soul; a space to come and just relax. I am home to 30 quaint plantation houses intimately exude out into the unending acres of Arabica coffee.

I sit just outside of Arusha proper, so if you have some spare time, some city exploring may spark your interest. Here are a few spots I recommend —

The Museum of Natural History — fill up the history, geography, flora and wildlife of Tanzania.
The Tanzanite Museum — Tanzanite is a rare gem stemming from the Mererani Hills of Manyara District in Northern Tanzania. Here you will learn all this and more (maybe even take home a few of these brilliant stones).
The Maasai Market — Beautiful shopping area for local crafts.
The Arusha Cultural Heritage Center — View the past and present of the Tanzanian culture all in one place. Did you know there were over 120 tribes that once roamed this country?

Do you love coffee? The Bean to Cup coffee tour is perfect for both coffee connoisseurs and the average joe alike. Learn the history of coffee while meandering the fields; then drink freshly roasted coffee.

If you aren’t heading to The Manor at Ngorongoro, get a taste of the experience by visiting the Crater at Ngorongoro and see a different side of Safari. Tucked inside a 100 square mile pristine, extinct volcano, loaded with vegetation are 1000s of animals. From solitary black rhinos, big male elephants and resident lions to zebras, wildebeest and hippos, there is so much wildlife to discover.

The resident baboons may try to come into your room to steal your fruit basket, so be sure to lock up behind you. Did you know that if they come to steal your fruit in a group, that is a troop of baboons!

The coffee plantation at the lodge has over 1.2 million bushes on over 1300 acres. During the harvest between April and September over 100 locals work every day to bring in delicious coffee that they ship all around the world, including Starbucks.

Rooms start at $193 per night during the low season. This includes accommodation and a scrumptious a la carte breakfast. Arusha Coffee Lodge is part of the beautiful Elewana Collection.
